Integrative Bodywork
Supporting the Gut–Nervous System Connection
Amy Savini is a Licensed Massage Therapist who has been practicing therapeutic bodywork for over 11 years. Originally licensed in North Carolina in 2015, she has continued to expand her training through specialized certifications that support a more integrative approach to healing.
Amy is also a Registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist and a Certified Abdominal Therapist trained in Maya and Arvigo techniques. Her work focuses on the relationship between the nervous system, digestive system, and the structural components of the body.
Through integrative bodywork, Amy combines multiple therapeutic techniques—including Maya Abdominal Therapy, therapeutic and deep tissue massage, vagus nerve–supportive techniques, and biodynamic craniosacral therapy. These hands-on therapies allow her to work with the fascia, organs, and nerves of the abdomen and pelvis to support digestive health, pelvic function, and the important gut–brain connection.
Sessions are personalized to each client’s symptoms, history, and goals, helping to release tension in the abdomen and throughout the body while supporting nervous system balance and communication within the body.
Amy’s approach is rooted in helping people reconnect with their bodies, especially those navigating chronic illness, persistent symptoms, or long-standing pain patterns. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment where the body can release tension, restore balance, and move toward healing.
She is passionate about being part of an integrative care team where hands-on bodywork complements functional and medical care to support deeper, more sustainable healing for patients.

What is Maya Abdominal Therapy?
Maya abdominal therapy, including Arvigo techniques, is a hands-on therapy that focuses on the abdomen and pelvis to support the health and function of the digestive and pelvic organs. The therapy works with the fascia, muscles, organs, and nerves of the abdominal region to support healthy circulation, tissue mobility, and communication between the digestive system and nervous system.
Maya abdominal therapy originates from traditional Mayan healing practices that recognize the abdomen as a central hub for health and vitality. The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy are an evidence-informed clinical system derived from these traditional practices, integrating modern understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pelvic health.
The digestive organs rely on healthy movement, circulation, and nervous system signaling to function properly. Abdominal therapy may help improve mobility of abdominal tissues and fascia, support circulation to the digestive organs, and encourage healthy signaling along the gut–brain connection.
Because the abdomen is closely connected to many organ systems, this therapy can support digestive health, pelvic and reproductive function, sexual wellness in both men and women, and nervous system regulation.
At GutWell Medical, Maya abdominal therapy is offered as a complementary therapy that works alongside medical and functional approaches to support digestive health, pelvic function, and overall nervous system balance as part of a whole-person approach to care.
