QDX Stool Kit
The QDX stool test is a comprehensive stool test that is one of Dr. Mitchell’s favorite tests as it is often covered by insurance.
QDX testing analyzes the following:
Complete GI Pathogen Panel PCR testing (14 pathogens - including food poisoning bacteria, parasites, viruses (like norovirus etc.)
Helicobacter pylori (H. Pylori) Stool Antigen
Clostridium difficile (C. Diff) antigen PCR and Toxins A and B (EIA)
Calprotectin (an inflammatory marker for Crohns and Ulcerative Colitis)
Pancreatic Elastase (a marker for pancreatic function)
Lactoferrin and White Blood Cells (inflammation markers)
Fecal fat (marker of digestion and absorption)
QDX stool testing is one of the most affordable tests used to diagnose conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), antibiotic diarrhea, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), celiac disease etc.
GI Advanced Microbiome
The GI Microbiome Profile from US BioTek offers a comprehensive and highly accurate assessment of gut microbiome health using advanced, state-of-the-art technology. This test delivers industry-leading precision in its reporting, allowing for a detailed understanding of microbial balance and potential dysfunction in the gastrointestinal tract.
It evaluates a wide range of factors, including macroscopy, short-chain fatty acid production, and key gut functional markers. The test also measures commensal bacterial abundance across major phyla, detects parasites, worms, fungi, yeast, opportunistic and pathogenic bacteria, viral pathogens, and identifies potential immune triggers. Additionally, it includes microbial culture alongside PCR analysis and provides insights into antimicrobial sensitivities.
Vibrant America Gut Zoomer
The Vibrant Gut Zoomer is a comprehensive stool test that assesses over 170 bacterial species, along with fungi, parasites, viruses, digestive function markers, and inflammatory markers. It offers a broad analysis of microbiome diversity, gut pathogens, inflammation, and nutrient metabolism, providing insight into how well the gut is functioning overall.
This test helps identify microbial imbalances that can lead to digestive dysfunction and contribute to conditions like IBS, autoimmune issues, chronic inflammation, and fatigue.
Genova Diagnostics GI Effects
The Genova GI Effects® Comprehensive Stool Profile is a functional test that evaluates digestion, absorption, inflammation, and the gut microbiome using multiple advanced methodologies, including PCR, culture, and microscopy. It measures beneficial and pathogenic bacteria, yeast, parasites, short-chain fatty acids, immune markers (like sIgA), and inflammatory markers (like calprotectin and eosinophil protein X).
This test provides a detailed look at gut microbial balance, digestive function, and mucosal immune activity, helping to identify root causes of GI symptoms, inflammation, and systemic health concerns.
